about

This album was a long time coming, but the time was never right. Or should I say, my heart wasn't in the right place for true inspiration. Well, my heart is ready now. I became a Christian on December 6, 1987 in my sophomore year of college in San Diego, California. At that time, I had just started songwriting. I had written maybe three or four songs. After I became a Christian, I naturally wrote a few Christian songs and didn't know if i could write anymore secular music, I was so happy to be saved. Eventually I began to write secular lyrics again, but always with a reflective tone about life. It wasn't until much later that I began to write love songs.
Unfortunately, I got too far off the path and stopped writing Christian songs. But life has a way of bringing you to your knees, and when I needed Him, God was there waiting for me all along. There are thirteen songs on this album. Eleven were written during summer and fall of 2013, a very hard year. The other two were written earlier(When Will You Come in 1988, and Thankful For in 1996). These songs came pouring out. Although I call this my Christian CD, you'd never hear songs like these on Christian radio. Four of the songs I consider prayers. They repeat a reflective thought or recite a Psalm.
Every song is accompanied by a scripture. Every song has meaning.
Musically speaking, there are lots of guitar solos on this one!
